Background
Elmer E. Powell boldly established his Pittsburgh-based brokerage firm in 1929 – the infamous year of the “The Crash.” The American economy and financial markets were plagued by the Depression Era with high unemployment, inflation and uncertainty. Unrelenting, Elmer set out to aid and fulfill the financial needs of his clients through hard work, integrity and personal service. After more than 85 years through good and bad economic times, this tradition of work ethic has propelled the company to prosper as Western Pennsylvania’s oldest independent brokerage firm.
